Throughout the year, students will work towards the compilation of their own Creative Anthology, based upon a theme of their choice. Each student will complete various works of Creative Writing (each of a different genre) including:
Short Fiction Parable
Creative Non-Fiction Anecdote
Literary Sketch Story
Through creation and compilation of their individual anthologies, students will learn about various aspects of creative writing including: technique, structure, literary elements, and most importantly, self-editing.
Weekly homework reinforces the concepts taught in class and the teacher is available during live office hours and by email to assist students. Assignments are graded and students receive a mid-term report as well as a year-end course credit report. Students may take this class for Honors credit.
