Charlotte Mason wrote "The question is not, - how much does the youth know? when he has finished his education- but how much does he care? about how many orders of things does he care? In fact how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? and therefore, how full is the life has before him?" This goal of this class is to expand the room the students stand in with exposure to Shakespeare and great poets, composers, and artist. Students will study two Shakespearean plays, four different poets, composers, and artists from different time periods. Students will explore subject areas including history, geography, literature, music, and art. This unique class will stand out on a transcript and demonstrate the well-roundness of the student.
Weekly homework reinforces the concepts taught in class and the teacher is available during live office hours and by email to assist students. Assignments are graded and students receive a mid-term report as well as a year-end course credit report. Students may take this class for honors credit.
